This year, Forbidden Siren celebrates its 20th anniversary.
On this occasion, a special event for Siren fans was launched in the Japanese amusement park "Namja Town". Visitors can experience a creepy "haunted house"-style attraction based on Forbidden Siren, walk around a small replica of Hanuda village, try special food, and buy cool souvenirs.
A regular visitor of our site nicknamed "Kudaranai" managed to get into this amusement park and make a photo report from there. So now you can also see all the fun stuff.
And as a bonus, we will also analyze the secret symbolism and hidden meaning of the food that was sold in this park :)
1. Village inside the Amusement Park
Part of the Namja Town park looks like a small Japanese village and reminds Hanuda from Forbidden Siren. Here you can see the old-fashioned wooden houses and Hanuda's religious symbol - the "Mana Cross".
Here is what Kudaranai says about it:
"There was a pond with red water and some wooden fences. A shibito woman was walking back and forth nearby. A little further, a little girl walked with a temari ball, meowed and threw herself at people from time to time. There is a washstand where sometimes the face of a boy appears at the bottom. And a few more similar things, such as a talking skull (if you touch it, they pour water on you). A very atmospheric place."

2. Forbidden Siren Attraction
There is an attraction called "Siren Kairou" ("Corridor of Siren"). It is a haunted house-style attraction stuffed with jump-scares based on the most memorable scenes from the game.
The ticket costs 1200 yen.
According to the rules, people with a weak heart and pregnant women are not allowed to enter! :)
According to the rules, people with a weak heart and pregnant women are not allowed to enter! :)
Here is how Kudaranai describes this attraction:
"First, there was a corridor with a shibito, who was hitting the wall with a hammer. It was very creepy, I carefully walked around him without looking away, but as soon as I was behind him at a short distance, he abruptly turned around and ran at me!
In the next room there was a bunk where a shibito spider was sitting upstairs (I was unable to make a photo of it because my hands were shaking too much). But it was just a mannequin. Next is the room with the Tomoko family watching TV. Further against the wall stood the mannequin of a school principal with bloody eyes.
In the next room, Risa was lying with a stake in her chest. I stared at her so much that I didn’t expect at all that her sister would crawl out of the wall with a knife and run at me. But then there was a way out.
A short but very intense and scary event. Gave me a lot of emotions. I had to stand in line for over an hour to visit this attraction, but it was worth it."
It was forbidden to take pictures inside the attraction. But Kudaranai still managed to take some photos.
Risa Onda's Corpse:
(Dr. Shiro Miyata's hammer lies next to the corpse. And somewhere in the darkness, a scary nurse Mina Onda is hiding to suddenly jump at visitors with a knife)
Shibito family near the TV:
(this is the scene from the game when Tomoko Maeda turned into a shibito with her parents)
The bloodied body of Eiji Nagoshi:
(a school principal who also turned into a shibito after death)
Child's drawings on the wall:
(these are drawings of a little girl Harumi - they could be seen in the archive file 007 of Forbidden Siren and in the prologue flash game)
3. Forbidden Siren Food
Namja Town Amusement Park also featured meals inspired by scenes from Siren. Many of these treats carry a secret meaning that only people familiar with the world of Forbidden Siren can understand.
Hanuda Noodles:
(these are the same "Hanuda Noodles" that we saw in the game)
Red Water:
(In the first Forbidden Siren game, people turned into creepy Shibito monsters precisely because of such "red water". Are park visitors now also doomed to turn into Shibito!?)
Red Sea Soup and Rice Dam:
(in the Japanese menu, this dish is called "破壊目前赤い水のダムスープ" - that means "Red Sea Soup and the Dam before the Destruction". Rice here symbolizes the Hanuda Dam, which collapsed towards the end of the game - and the village was flooded by the bloody sea. When a person starts eating rice on a plate - he thus metaphorically destroys the dam. Very interesting idea!)
Mana Cross Pancake:
(above - the same Mana Cross, which was a symbol of a religious sect from the Hanuda village. The cross is an inverted Japanese kanji "生", which means "life". Thus, this cross represents "opposite of life" - that is, death. Bon appetit!)
Hot Dog with Bloody Tears:
(The full name of this dish reads like this: "Mom, open the door! - Tomoko Maeda's Hot Dog." The dish symbolizes a terrifying scene from the game when Tomoko knocks on the window to her parents - and bloody tears begin to flow down the girl's face)
Hanuda Umi-Gaeri Udon:
(Umi-Gaeri - is a religious ritual of the Hanuda village, when people plunge into the "bloody sea". Therefore, udon is also partially immersed in a blood-red sauce)
Festive Dish in honor of Siren's 20th anniversary:
(a black flag with a "Siren 20th Anniversary" logo is stuck in a rice ball)
Hanuda Ramen:
(the same ramen mentioned in Siren Blood Curse archive files)
4. Souvenirs
Among other things, Namja Town Amusement Park also sold some rare souvenirs.
Bags for music player, phone stickers, key chains:
(there is a word "The Buster" written on the bag - it's a reference to the title of the music track that Kyoya Suda was listening to at the end of the game)
Acrylic stands, stickers and collectible cards:
All Siren characters here are redrawn as cats, because the cat is the symbol of Namja Town.
5. Video
Also, Kudaranai was able to record a few short videos in the amusement park. These videos will allow you to feel the atmosphere of the event (especially if you watch the video with sound).
P.S.: big thanks to Kudaranai for photos and videos! ^_^
